Dr. Tula Ruggiero and Peggy Lacey Craig began planning the Berkeley Springs School for the Arts several years ago, having been inspired by conversations with Lydia Rose Hitchcock Walker who served as Music Director/Organist at Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church for many years. 

Over time, the church has given its blessing to a number of musicians who have offered recitals, concerts, and taught lessons as part of their mission in the community. We also offer lessons to more advanced students. Our experienced, expert teachers strive to “encourage appreciation for the Arts in general. In the future, we hope to be able to engage other aspects of the Fine Arts as other qualified instructors become available.

Our goal is to enrich the cultural life of the greater Berkeley Springs, WV area by offering quality Arts Education to people of all ages. We are excited to provide conservatory-trained musicians who will give students of all ages a solid foundation in learning to play musical instruments.
